Home Office Admit to Wasting Taxpayers’ Money

Posted by thenewconstitution on 1 January, 2007

When technology is so widespread, it is shocking to think that the Home Office does not count the number of people walking freely from category-D prisons. Although local records are kept, central government does not know who – or even how many people – have breached their sentences. In short, people are walking free from prison, and the Home Office don’t even count them.

But for all the complaints streaming from the Tories, I haven’t heard anyone say that the Thatcher / Major governments held such records, and that Blair has abolished the system. It’s all very well being the back-seat drivers, but not so easy when you are in power, methinks.

What surprises me is the comments made by Phil Wheatley that a central tally would be kept in future, even though this would not increase the recapture rate. What, then, is the point? PR?

If a new database would not help in any way, why do the Home Office want to waste money on it? If it will do nothing to help the recapture rate, don’t set it up! Either they are wasting taxpayers’ money, or they are wasting taxpayers’ money and lying about it.

Not looking good, Dr. Reid.

One Response to “Home Office Admit to Wasting Taxpayers’ Money”

  1. While Jack Straw was Home Secretary I contacted him about the Fraud within the, or parts of, the Home Office, and other Departments. I do still have the letters and the replies.

Again, at this time, I believe changes were made to the process of record keeping and reporting at Basis, a Fraud Prevention Unit at Birmingham. Another Unit, Future Business Security, in Leeds, was closed altogether. Another Fraud Prevention Unit was closed down at the HM Treasury, and again at the DSS, The Adeliphi, John Adam Street London. And there was a fourth Unit closed at this time. At the DSS, the man in charge of part of this, A, Mr. Devereux, Room 642. His righthand man was a very obliging Mr. P Wilmot. But I did write and ask Mr. Devereux, “Who
is in charge of the security?” Answer was there none. This takes the problem to the year 2000.

And as you suggest, with technology now so widespread, it is shocking. It is shocking that the Taxpayers have not yet come to realise, that Direct Taxation is now an Option. You are now, no longer Obliged to pay Direct Taxation. You, can use the same concessions used by very rich people and the very highly paid, to move your money beyond the reach of The Treasury and HMRC, Inspectors, Have a look at this Website:-

My e-mail is flynn354@btinternet.com To achieve a TaxFree status, it requires a large number of taxpayers to decide to abandon Westminster and form another system of Taxation based on a single Tax Rate, of 10% on income above, £300. or £400. each week. Just the one simple Ttax. It isn’t a case of how much money is Needed. It is surely a case of How Much money You will Allow Politics to have. End of story. Regards, ATF.
